| O Estado do Acre apresenta características propícias ao desenvolvimento da cultura dos citros. Porém, o curto período de oferta de frutos, mudas de baixa qualidade, indefinição de cultivares adaptadas, problemas fitossanitários e a falta de informações técnicas tornam-se fatores limitantes à ampliação do parque produtivo. Este trabalho teve como objetivos identificar as principais pragas, seus inimigos naturais e as doenças mais importantes da cultura dos citros em quatro municípios do Acre e avaliar aspectos vegetativos e produtivos de genótipos locais de citros, bem como o desenvolvimento vegetativo de combinações de cultivares copa e porta-enxerto. | Adult Tephritidae, especially of the genus Anastrepha (Schiner, 1868), have been observed to feed on a wide variety of natural diets. The fruit on which they feed, in general, are rich in sugar content, chiefly glucose, frutose and sucrose, which are also the sugars that those insects utilise better. Neither the behavioural mechanisms, nor the physiological ones, that control food selection by insects, are well known. Because some of those aspects are not known for the species Anastrepha obliqua (Macquart, 1835) either, and in order to understand their biology better, three experiments were conducted. | ABSTRACT: With the aim of making the application of the Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) feasible in the management of the West Indian fruit fly in Brazil, Anastrepha obliqua (Macquart) (Diptera: Tephritidae), a number of quality parameters required by the SIT were investigated in this study.
